about
“[Ground Up] reflects all the mixed emotions I’ve been experiencing during this time.I actually wrote and produced it from my living room , a place where I've been spending a lot of time! I wanted to keep the spontaneity and organic message of the song without overthinking the process.
Speaking with my friends I’ve found that even though we’ve all had different experiences, the feelings are pretty much the same. To me it really just emphasises that we’re all on this road together and even though we may feel lonely we’re definitely not alone. By speaking up about it and reaching out to others for help can only strengthen us.”
lyrics
Vs 1:
Look in the mirror, what do I see
Hello reflection, hello again me
These little distractions don’t work anymore
You see one minute I’m up then I’m down o this rollercoaster
Open the window, the streets are so bare
Behind every closed door, a story to tell
Inside of these four walls, a chance to begin
And I got a room in my heart that I’m saving till we meet again
Ch:
I’m holding onto something I can’t see
I’m waiting for the day where I can breath, again
If we crumble if we fail, together
From the ground up we can build this house again.
From the ground, from the ground, from the ground up (x2)
Vs2:
Missing my family, been missing my friends
Watching too much tv, it’s not good for my health
Though I’m feeling lonely, I know I’m not alone
We’ll keep on helping and lifting each other up stone by stone
Pre:
Dig deeper now
There’s a treasure inside waiting to be found
Ch:
I’m holding onto something I can’t see
I’m waiting for the day where I can breath, again
If we crumble if we fail, together
From the ground up we can build this house again.
From the ground, from the ground ,from the ground up (x3)
From the ground up we can build this house again
Outro:
I’m holding onto something I can’t see
I’m waiting for the day where I can breath, again
If we crumble if we fail, together
From the ground up we can build this house again.
